Description
Summary:This report provides an understanding of what the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is, how it operates, its key features, the different subsystems that lead up to it and most importantly, emphasizes its importance in the world of physics. As the facility at CERN comprises many different types of particle accelerators, detectors and components for a variety of purposes, only the ones that play a crucial role in the final acceleration process of the LHC are to be focused on. The report also provides basic explanations of various working principles in the LHC and major achievements to date, while highlighting its motivations and future intended upgrades to increase collision production and energy output limits.
