Description
Summary:Energy and cost saving are our main concern, particularly the energy consumed by the common facilities used at home or office such as air conditioner. It is quite common that the air conditioner temperature setting or fan speed setting does not match with human occupancy so that either the occupants would feel uncomfortable or there is a waste of energy. This project tries to solve this issue. The main focus of this project is the application of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in order to optimize facilities management operations. It is done by using sensors and equipment and combining with analytics methods of Machine Learning (ML) to predict the temperature and subsequently control the air conditioner or fan. The word optimization used here is focusing on energy conservation. The main idea is to use the energy (electricity) as efficient as possible based on the human presence detection, while at the same time maintaining human thermal comfort. This smart technology is hopefully able to be applied in the market some time in the future.
