Summary: | Global change is the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s climate system and its related effects. Anticipated effects including the increasing of global temperatures, rising of sea levels, changing precipitation and expansion of deserts in the subtropics. Possible action to mitigate the global warming is mainly by emission reduction, building systems. One of the possible method is to use hydrogen instead of fossil fuel, which is highly flammable and will burn in air at very wide range of concentration. Hydrogen also can be used in chemical and agriculture industry for fertiliser, cyclohexane and methanol.
One of the way to produce hydrogen is to use electric power to electrolyze water with catalysed electrode. This report aims to provide a brief introduction to hydrogen generation, including general procedure of catalysts optimization (including electrodeposition, sulfuration, or phosphorization) testing [including oxygen evolution reaction(OER), hydrogen evolution reaction(HER), and alkaline dye electrooxidation]. Experiential procedures and testing results analysis in hydrogen generation are discussed in brevity. |
