By 2050, one-third of the population in the world will be live in the cities, the needs of electricity expected to be twice as current . The continuously increasing energy demand cause many advice effects included carbon footprint increased, climate change and higher energy cost. The growth in energy demand also brings up many challenges to generate sufficient amount of electricity. Hence, it is essential to have an energy management system to maximize the efficiency of electricity usage. As a developing country, Singapore has a mass of estates, which included industrial, commercial and residential. The energy management system can be widely applicated to reduce the electricity demand and maintenance user’s comfort level at the same time. The Building Energy Management System (BEMS) is designed to fulfil the basic requirement of smart building concept. It is included solar PV and battery system to supply the demand side usage. The program integrated demand response algorithm that allows the user to customized limit of load demand, hence, improve the energy efficiency and save cost. Energy management techniques have been implemented into the program such as variable speed control and load shifting. This project use NI LabVIEW as the software platform, a graphics program supports complex system implementation.
