Description
Summary:The paper reviews emerging technologies that can be applicable to the aerospace industry. As time passes, new technologies will tackle old problems and finally leading to innovations. Endless emerging technology has been an uprising in the recent few years, but that doesn’t mean that there is only one application for that process. In the paper, the author elaborates on the leading and most relevant technologies to the aerospace industry, such as metal cold spray, brazing, and additive manufacturing. This well-known process has more than one use to the aerospace industry, and the author discusses some of the potential applications these processes have. Additionally, as the author worked with Rolls Royce he got some hands-on experience with a leading aerospace company, the paper also describes the documents that go behind a project at Rolls Royce and how they help in the completion and tracking of the project status at any given moment. The author attempts a better understanding of sensors on a jet engine, by reviewing the need for more sensors and the limitations of the materials they are currently made of. The final chapter seeks to answer the methods on how the industry can tackle the restrictions faced due to the harsh operating conditions faced by sensors. The author also describes some of the industry trends that can be observed in terms of tackling the limitations faced by the sensor in the current market. It is hoped that this paper will inform readers about the potential emerging technologies and their applications in the aerospace industry.
