Description
Summary:This project aims to design a wideband antenna that is suitable for use on vehicles and is especially optimized for V2X communications. The design is carried out using the ANSYS HFSS software to create a virtual model. The antenna is aimed at fulfilling various communication standards, including LTE-Low, LTE-High, WiFi-2.4G, WiFi-5G, and DSRC bands. This means that the antenna is expected to have an operational frequency range spanning from 0.7 GHz to 6 GHz. In this project, the specific type of antenna chosen was the self-complementary modified bow-tie antenna, which is a type of microstrip antenna. Various permutations of its dimensions are tested and the one of the best result was chosen to be developed into a prototype. The prototype was subsequently taken for measurement of its efficiency. This report documents the various procedures that were undertaken in order to develop and examine the prototype, and the details are elaborated on in arranged chapters and sections.
