This report will discuss the feasibility and workability of fiber optic sensor which will be adopted by the future development of wireless sensor in structural health monitoring. This report will start with an overview of the application of conventional sensor in structural health monitoring system, followed by the deficiency compensated by developed wireless fiber optic sensor. The body part will focus on the experiment design and result analysis. The designed laboratory tests on respective specimen aim to verity the practicability and accuracy of optic fiber sensor under compression, tension, and concrete hardening. With experimental test, the feasibility and accuracy of the optic fiber sensor will be verified and concluded.
