Three-dimensional (3D) tissue models offer more effective and robust pre-clinical screening as compared to two-dimensional (2D) tissue models which are relatively lower in cost and shorter time to cultivate. Devices currently available on the market are not able to handle drug perfusion at cell-viable conditions for long-term testing and imaging experiments at a lower cost. This paper suggests building a portable microcontroller to integrate with portable incubator enclosure for cell experiments and drug screening of three-dimensional (3D) tissue models, presenting a useful diagnostic tool for screening cost-effectively. The portable microcontroller must be able to regulate consistent environment for cell experiments to perform long-term testing and imaging without any disruption to cell viability.
