Summary:Nowadays, the AC microgrid plays the dominant part in the power generation, transmission and distribution systems. However, with the developing of the technology, more DC devices have been designed and manufactured in the world. Meanwhile, the renewable energy has been boosted, the power is generated also in DC forms. Thus, the mixture of DC/AC microgrid has been brought out gradually. As the battery system plays an important part in the system, the purpose of this project is to introduce a new type of battery called Vanadium Redox flow battery and implement VRB system into DC and AC microgrid. In order to optimize the battery performance, the research of several methods has been introduced in this report also. And to implement the battery into the microgrid, the prototype of DC/DC or DC/AC converter have been established. The proportional resonant controller has been used to make the output voltage and current controllable. The methods will be introduced in detail in this report.
