However, there are several technical challenges faced that contributed to the delay of commercialization of PEMFCs. One of the challenges includes finding the suitable approach to tackle the problem that was faced having a large active area for the PEMFC. This final year project focuses on fabricating the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) testing kit. The Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell works by using a thin, permeable membrane electrode assembly (MEA) to catalyze the reaction. The PEMFC testing kit will provide the required clamping force for contact resistance, heating element for a good overall surface temperature and inlet and outlet of gases. PEM fuel cells are supposed to be a compact lightweight unit to facilitate for the portability, which makes them suitable for cars, buildings and smaller stationary applications. This project is required to design and conduct an experimental study to find out the feasibility of the PEMFC testing kit Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) 2018-06-13T05:04:13Z 2018-06-13T05:04:13Z 2018 Final Year Project (FYP) http://hdl.handle.net/10356/75735 en Nanyang Technological University 54 p. application/pdf
