Summary: | The demand of air traffic increased steadily and rapidly during the past decades, in pace with the improvement of people’s income level and reduction of air traveling expenses. The fast growing of flights and aircrafts directly results in the inadequate capacity problems in air traffic system. Effective air traffic flow management strategies are urgently required to optimize the utilization of limited airports and en-route capacities. In addition, realistic air traffic simulation environment is needed to be developed to support the improvement and enhancement of air traffic flow scheduling and routing methods.
This project systematically introduced an effective method of flight plan generation, which includes a method of air traffic system and air traffic flow scheduling problem. The flight plan generated by this approach aims to reduce the total departure and arrival delay of all flights.
In addition, a realistic simulation platform based AirTOp, which is a fast-time air traffic simulator, according to the flight rules and scenario data collected from real flights, is developed.
Finally, a simulation based on original and rescheduled flight plans is executed to test the validation and efficiency of ATFM model. |
