Description
Summary:With the increase in urban populations due to urbanization, current mobility systems might face struggles to keep up with the transportation demand. To tackle the current challenges, solutions such as smart mobility are being explored, especially with the emergence of the smart cities initiative. Part of smart mobility is technology driven, by analysing data to come up with solutions. This project uses data like movement data and mobile phone data to compare the mobility patterns in Singapore and Paris through the use of technologies like geospatial visualization and big data processing. The findings from this project include the peak hours, dominant mode of transport and culture in both cities. These results can contribute to realizing smart mobility by providing a clearer picture of mobility patterns. This project is also a continuation of the work done by a senior, which focused more on the mobility patterns in Paris.
