The demand across all industries for increased computer security is growing, and
cryptography is a subcategory within the career field of information security.
Cryptologists employ codes to protect private or classified information from
unauthorized viewing and use cryptographic knowledge and techniques to decode
information that would otherwise remain hidden. The discipline is a very old one that
has gained new and increasing importance with the proliferation of cybercrimes.
With technology advancing at such a fast rate, cryptography has become essential in
our daily lives. Thus, there is a need to create awareness and educate those of
cryptography and its impact.
One way to accomplish this is to educate with by utilising gamification. This project
requires one to play the cryptographic game on Xilinx Zynq Board. It is a guessing
game which utilises encryption to educate players about the mechanics of 2
commonly used cipher algorithms. Positive feedbacks have been received from the
people who played the game and majority of them have benefited and gained
knowledge from playing the game. Further enhancements for this project would be
improving the user interface and adding more content to the game. |
