Summary:Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is one of the most important concepts in an IoT era. Vehicle to Vehicle communication has been attracted significant attention as it expected to improve traffic condition, reduce road accidents and enable a high level of vehicle automation. Many researches and paper have been published on this topic since many years ago. However, there are still some technical challenges. One of the most critical challenge is Vehicular communication efficiency and safety issue. For many years, IEEE802.11P has been the choice for V2X. Recently, a new standard has started evolving related with 3GPP. The proposed LTE-V2X technology is a derivative of the cellular uplink technology that maintains similarity with the current LTE systems: frame structure, sub-carrier spacing, clock accuracy requirements and the concept of a resource block, to mention a few. [1]. Technically, the disruption of the network will affect the LTE-V2X. In this paper, the discussion is based on IEEE802.11P environment. VANET is one of the most fast growing research area in wireless communication. With the maturity and the advancement of VANET, there will be a great revolution in wireless communication inters of network security, network availability, safety application. In recent years, Blockchain as an emerging technology in today’s IoT world. Basically, Blockchain is a decentralized, distributed ledger, it ensures high level of security as the transaction is immutable and anonymous. Each transaction in a blockchain network is verified. Blockchain leverages consensus mechanisms to create permanent records of transactions through a distributed and decentralised network, all the transaction data is permanently recorded in blocks. When new blocks added to the end of the chain, the record can never be removed or changed once it’s committed by the blockchain network. The most of existing proposed scheme is rely on third party infrastructure, the security issue and the privacy of the user is a big concern. In this paper, we have done a comprehensive research of the existing proposal of Security Schemes for Vehicular Networks, and proposed a new Vehicles Consensus Blockchain system (VCBS) based on Blockchain Raft Algorithm. This proposed scheme is infrastructure-free design, a pre-authentication protocol is implemented, Vehicle is able to direct communicate to each other, the leader-based consensus system relies on the high level security feature of blockchain technology, it’s able to enhance the efficacy and security of Vehicular Networks.
