Wide-band end-fire antennas of circular polarization

Summary: | In this report, we designed two rectangular helical antennas which operated at 8 GHz and 12.5 GHz, respectively. Simulation has been performed in HFSS and the results show that the 10-dB return loss bandwidth bandwidth of 56% and the 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 41% can be achieved for the low frequency part. For the high frequency part, 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 26% and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 29% can be achieved. After integrating these two antennas together, the 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth ranges from 7.6 GHz to 10.4 GHz and 11.3 GHz to 14.2 GHz. However, since the simulation results are not so optimal in another layered design, we analyzed the causes, put forward some suggestions and clarified some research directions in the future. |
