While in indoor scenarios, GPS signals suffer severe attenuation and the accuracy drops to tens of meters. However, in the foreseeable future robots will become a indispensable part of human life (robots for housekeeping, health care and safety applications), which all demand the location awareness function in centimetre level under the indoor environment. Therefore, a highly accurate indoor positioning system will become a necessity in the future. Moreover, the Li-Fi systems are currently being developed for commercial usage. Companies have started the first generation of commercialized Li-Fi system Li-Fi technology has great potential to release the burden of Wi-Fi and also utilizes the same lighting infrastructure for communication at low cost.
