纪实同志文学 ：多元性别再现与抗争 = A study on Singapore’s LGBT non-fiction literature : representation and challenges of the sexually diversified

女同性恋、男同性恋、双性恋和跨性别者（Lesbian，Gay，Bisexual，Transgender- LGBT）的话题在新加坡这个相较保守的国家仍然是一个敏感话题。虽然现今，比起早期九十年代前的新加坡社会的思想更为开放、些许民众的接受度也更为提高，但LGBT群体仍然还是得不到众多公民与政府的认同。同志群体在日常生活中，除了能隐瞒自身与主流异性恋霸权模式的差异性外，同时也是能光明正大地展现自己的差异性，真实的做自己。即便如此，那些勇于现身的同志群体却需要面对种种异性恋霸权带来的排斥、不认同与不接纳。 本文于是将研究新加坡纪实同志文学，以同志真人真事探讨“多元性别”的认知。然后，再通过同志现身在新加坡所面临到的种种压迫与排斥，揭露“异性恋意识空间”所施予的压迫。同时，也通过故事的再现，并以想像的共同体之概念探讨“异性恋意识空间”所存在的虚幻性，借由此质疑并挑战异性恋霸权模式在新加坡中的“理所当然”。 The topic of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) remains a sensitive issue in a relatively conservative country like Singapore. While the local current society is much more open and receptive than the early 1990s, the homosexual community is still unable to gain the acceptance from many citizens and the government. Day-to-day, homosexuals either choose to hide the differences between themselves and the heterosexual hegemony or stay true to oneself and disclose their sexual orientation that diverts from the mainstream society. Yet, LGBT individuals that choose to openly express one’s sexuality and come out of the closet (i.e. self-disclosure of one’s homosexuality) are often subjected to social discrimination, rejection and disapproval. Hence, this thesis seeks to examine the representation of sexual diversity and LGBT individuals through the study of local LGBT non-fiction literature. The paper’s examination on various challenges such as social exclusions that the LGBT community faces further sheds light on the “space of heterosexual consciousness” and its oppression to homosexual individuals. It critiques and challenges heteronormativity through the representation of LGBT stories and the use of “imaginary community” concept.
