The purpose of the campaign is to investigate the effectiveness of an educational intervention in Singapore aimed at cultivating growth mindset, a concept that is still in the infancy stage locally, in Primary 2 and 3 students and their parents. As Singapore has yet to have a nationwide intervention for school children that actively promotes the cultivation of growth mindset and which involves all key stakeholders of a child’s development, this pilot campaign can provide useful insights to inform the formative analysis and strategies for future interventions. Muscle Mind focuses on encouraging the practice and cultivation of growth mindset in students, and involving teachers and parents to create an environment that facilitates and maximises students’ adoption of the mindset. This is done through strategies including posters and activity booklets targeting the Primary 2 and 3 students, curriculum integration for the Primary 2 students, as well as a website and weekly newsletters for parents sent via Class Dojo, the school’s social media platform. As a whole, majority of our target audience experienced an increase in intention to practise growth mindset as a result of an increase in positive attitudes, perceived behavioural control, and social pressure of practising the growth mindset.
