Description
Summary:The aim of this research study is to determine the reasons and the factors that influence the athletes from the Triathlon Association of Singapore to withdraw or drop out of early participation. For this research study, semi-structured interviews have been conducted with the participants on a one-to-one basis. Participants (N=10) are athletes aged 21-35 and will be selected based on their previous status as athletes from Triathlon Training Squad (Team Singapore) who have competed in major competitions for several years. There were multiple factors that were found to influence the decision of the athletes to drop out of the Singapore Triathlon like motivational factors, social factors, training and performance factors, education and work obligations among others.
