A direct relationship can be inferred from the increase in the number of internet users in relation to the internet being increasingly used as a learning and communication platform. Based on the usability and functionality flaws in the existing learning platforms and the increase in reliance, usage and importance of these learning platforms in educational systems, there is a need to improve on the current learning platform into one which can be easily used by all. This project develops a working and intuitive system targeted towards undergraduates in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The system is developed by using a back-end database, server and a front-end browsing platform. This allows course knowledge of specific course topics to be disseminated among interested students. The platform also allows users to subscribe to their interest in multiple course topics and the system will be capable of sending email notifications to subscribed users, in the event if there are new and relevant course knowledge added into the database. Taxonomy of the website with the user demographics in mind is heavily considered to provide a better user experience. This system implementation encourages users to have a positive mindset towards continuous learning as it acts as a platform for users to explore and find out more information about related course topics of their interest. It also automates the work of the professors by managing all the course knowledge in a centralized database and disseminating it to all users. A detailed research on the usage frequency of the internet was conducted and the results showed that there was a drastic increase in the number of internet users worldwide from 1,024 million users in 2005 to 3,578 million users in 2017.
