Summary: | Library is a place with many resources which can be an essential aspect part of our life. Visiting the library allows information seeker of any income level or background to access information they need. People who love reading can also visit the library to access books available to their interest. As such, a library is a place that offers information seeker to discover interesting books.
Today, mobile applications offering library services are widely available that compromises basic functions such as allowing users to check the operating hours of public libraries, view catalogue of books, check availability of books and the various events happening in the libraries. However, there are many constraints of what a mobile application with library services can offer. It does not allow users to find similar books of their interest. Therefore, by transforming libraries into a social library, information seeker can collect these resources and include them into their personal library to share their collections with others.
The implementation of a social library includes using of networking function which enables users to, at no cost, network among each other and to share book resources with others who have the same interest.
This project aims to address the needs and expectations of information seekers by providing them a platform to create friendship with users who have common interest in books. Users can explore books that their friends own as well as borrowing books from them. |
