Description
Summary:Slaughterhouse wastewater, in comparison to municipal wastewater, is considered high strength wastewater due to the high concentration of its’ constituents. As such, conventional treatment is insufficient in removing the constituents of the water before discharging and may cause severe effects when discharged. In this report, the use of fibrous flat sheet membrane is investigated with regards to its’ removal efficiencies of wastewater parameters. A treatment system is designed and run to investigate the removal efficiencies of parameters such as dissolved organic carbon (DOC), carbonaceous oxygen demand and biological oxygen demand when used to treat synthetic slaughterhouse wastewater.
