Summary: | Rainwater harvesting is a method that is commonly applied in the world. It makes use of the existing landscape and its geographical location to aid in the ease of the collection of the rainwater. This final year project aims to find how much water can be saved by adopting the rainwater harvesting system in Gail Batu train depot (Singapore Bus Services Transit - SBST). Case in point, water price hike happened recently may continue to rise in the next few years. Cost saving analysis can also be done through a study of the proposed system and referring to the report provided by the Meteorological Service Singapore. A prototype system would be built to simulate the actual system designed in a smallscale environment. The system can be implemented quickly without changing the existing infrastructure and would prove the long-term economic benefits of water recycling. This is an initiative to adopt a broader green energy practices within the organization since the joint effort of the organization will push forward the responsibilities in creating a more sustainable and eco-friendlier environment. |
