Description
Summary:This report shows the journey taken by the author during the Final Year Project on Indoor Temperature Control of VCC-based refrigeration system. Vapor Compression Cycle (VCC) based refrigeration systems are commonly found everywhere. They have high coefficient of performance (COP), reliability, safety and a compact design which makes it highly used in the refrigeration engineering field. The author was actively taking data from the system by changing the set-point of the controller to vary the temperature of the rooms to see if the indoor temperature is controlled and adjusted according to the set-point value. Set-point value is adjusted through the PID controllers to indicate the desired indoor temperature. Using the experimental method, different values are selected for testing which will then produce values in the resulting indoor temperature. It can then be deduce if the resulting indoor temperature matches that of the temperature set by the PID controller. Each set-point value adjusted by the PID controller will run for approximately an hour to see if the values match the desired temperature before changing the set-point value. The set-point value will then be changed to test if the controller is able to adjust and control the indoor temperature. This process is repeated with different set-point values.
