Description
Summary:This Final Year Report analyses and reviews the current state of cybersecurity laws and which laws are important to the maintenance of a strong cybersecurity environment. To achieve this, we have identified important aspects in cybersecurity and designed a framework that provides a fair and robust method of judging the strengths and weaknesses of cybersecurity laws around the world. Additionally, a web-based visualisation system of the survey results will be developed to collect and share the research obtained from the review of international cybersecurity laws. The results of which showed that Privacy, Data Protection, Internet Regulation, Anti- Phishing/Spam and Encryption laws play an extremely important part in cybersecurity. Additionally, a repository of over 30 countries are now available as part of the review which allows users to understand the different approaches taken around the world. Furthermore, a website has been developed to display the reports and also includes additional algorithms and functions designed to simplify the research portion and also to make absorbing information easier. From a cybersecurity perspective, the study done shows the importance of the different aspects of cybersecurity and how each of the five aspects outline plays a part in ensuring countries are able to enforce strong cybersecurity practices to protect and safeguard the interests of their citizens.
