Urban gardening has been a growing trend among Singaporeans for a while now and has spread from gardening in restaurants and hotels growing their own produce, gardening along HDB (Housing Development Board) corridors, and even to indoor spaces like office or home tables. In a fast and hardworking country like Singapore there can be times where we are too busy to tend to our plants as the routine of gardening can be inconvenient at times. The research in this paper aims to analyse the reasons for the rise in urban gardening among Singaporeans as well as to dive into the psychology of human behaviour towards the act of gardening and how these reasons can help in the development of the product design. The project aims to design a product that encourages new or current urban gardeners to take care of their plants well and learn the needs of their plants while making it easy for them even through their busy schedules.
