It uses ranges from gaming (recreational purposes) to medical research. It is even being used in military applications. It is considered a type of human computer interface. The purpose of this project is to develop a viable way for disabled people to control a computer without the dependence of hands. The project consists of two parts, the hardware (Camera and infrared LED) and the software (Open-CV and QT). Both the LED and the camera are used to provide good illumination and to capture an image of the eye. The resulted image is then processed using image processing library to obtain the point of gaze. By using the position of gaze, the program can control the mouse using build in windows function to perform simple task like clicking.
