Summary: | Blockchain is a relatively new technology that is considered quite niche in today’s market. It is the basis for one of the most successful decentralised applications in the world today, the cryptocurrency. BitCoin, which holds the highest value of all cryptocurrencies, offers a unique way of doing online payments and transactions securely over the internet. It does not have a central authority that controls or introduce regulations and creates a new way of making and sending digital money, or coin. This technology uses cryptographic hashing to secure its data and transactions, a technique that focuses on a 1-way function that cannot be reversed to get access to data. But for all its advantages and the use of a secure algorithm as a way to ensure data integrity, it is a technology that not many people are aware of or know much about, if anything at all. This project aims to teach people on the use of blockchain technology and the vast improvements it can provide to the world of cyber security via the use of a cryptocurrency tutorial, so that they will be better able to know what blockchain technology is. A technology that can contribute greatly to the field of cyber security because of its unique use of hashing algorithms and trust between different users in the network. |
