Description
Summary:In the field of Radar Communication, antennas are used in detection applications. Its applications are especially used in the military aspect. Therefore, the security of signal transmissions becomes a paramount issue. Radar is a system which uses electromagnetic waves to detect object and measures the objects’ range, angle or velocity. Radar Crossed Section (RCS) is a parameter aimed to be minimized so that the user or object will not be easily detected by unwanted signals, such as that from the enemy. To enhance radar communication in military applications, antennas are mounted on specially designed layers to achieve low-RCS while maintaining its efficiency. This report will provide an insight on the designing of a low-RCS phased array and the exploration of the means to optimize the ability of the antenna. ANSYS HFSS® is a 3D Electromagnetic Field Simulator for Radio Frequency and Wireless Design. In this project, it is used to design and simulate the phased array coupled with a dipole antenna.
