Physics explains how our universe works, from the biggest star to the smallest atom, and it seems natural to, at the very least, seek understanding of something that is literally all we are made of and living in. Some bits of information are useful, for example, how does a touch screen work, while other bits have no obvious practical use, like the nature of quantum particles – there is no need for me to know that it exists as both a particle and a wave. However, practical or not, learning for learning’s sake, always improves the ability to educate yourself, which is just about the most important skill in life. Physics knowledge, and its resulting critical thinking ability and concept application skills are important life skills that help with everyday problem solving and more importantly to me, inspire curiosity in everyday life. Everyday Physics is a project that aims to spark more interest in this very fundamental and important field of science. I am also hoping to use Physics as a medium that can inspire curiosity or more thought to be given to the little things around us.
