Description
Summary:The traffic speed data set is available at the IEEE Dataport which is part of the IEEE Big Data intiative. The data files in this data set was collected from traffic monitors installed in all five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island) during 2015 and 2016. Each raw data file consists of sensor location (id), traffic speed and travel time on a particular day. The objective of this project is to perform initial analysis on the data set. The tasks of this project include visualization of the traffic feed data, feature extraction and basic analysis of the data. It is suitable for students with an interest in data science. Due to the condition of access to the data set, the student has to be prepared to subscribe to the IEEE Dataport for this project.
