Summary: | Over the past few years, the problem of air pollution and global warming is getting worse due to CO2 emission which cause by conventional vehicles. Singapore government engaged research institute to develop roadmap on electro mobility until the year 2050. Electric vehicles (EV) which is low emission and environmental friendly that can be charged by renewable energy system will replace the conventional vehicle step by step eventually. However, the penetration of EVs will add on additional power consumption on existing power system. Although there are many research have been done on Electric Vehicle charging but not specific for Singapore. This purpose of this paper is to investigate how the Electric Vehicle charging will affect the existing power system substation design specifically for Singapore. The first part of this paper is an introduction of the motivation background and organization of this project. The second part of this paper is about Literature review on existing power system. And the third part is more on methodology of impact of Electric Vehicle charging system on existing power system design in Singapore. The last but not the least important part is conclusion of the work have been done so far. And since some of the trend prediction is based on assumption. There will also have suggestion on the future work. |
