Power generation by ocean waves (II) : electric generator

Shortage of electricity will soon become a problem if there is not an alternative solution to generate electricity. Instead of depending on fossil fuel as the sole resource, there are several other methods/resources to generate green electricity. The project looks mainly into hydroelectricity and co...

Instead of depending on fossil fuel as the sole resource, there are several other methods/resources to generate green electricity. The project looks mainly into hydroelectricity and covering various methods of harnessing hydroelectricity. The project deepens the understanding of how Wells Turbine and Impulse Turbine reacts on the Oscillating Wave Colum (OWC). Three designs are designed and tested for its operating condition under bidirectional winds from a wind tunnel. All three designs’ various aspects are as follows; hub ratio, types of guiding vane, the number of Wells Turbine & Impulse buckets and type of arrangement. Studying the software, wind tunnel simulation and test result helps to build a better design than the previous one. The project gave a better understanding of the operation of the wind turbine and its fabrications Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) 2019-06-10T03:55:10Z 2019-06-10T03:55:10Z 2019 Final Year Project (FYP) http://hdl.handle.net/10356/77941 en Nanyang Technological University 85 p. application/pdf
