Description
Summary:Most developed countries have been transformed into concrete jungles, with developing countries slowly walking towards that direction as well. In a concrete jungle, people are surrounded by polished and modern buildings as well as the idea of a perfect lifestyle for all to enjoy. However, this idealistic lifestyle has blinded the majority of the population to the environmental issues that are a by product of their chase for their materialism and a comfortable life. With the issues of plastic, fashion and food waste at an all time high, society needs to be made aware of the detrimental opportunity cost to the environment as it pursues its materialistic tendencies. Corn is the ideal plant to initiate this movement of using by products of plants as alternative material. It is an extremely important plant for many industries hence, there are large amounts of corn being produced which results in large excess of its by products as well. It is one of the rare food items that are packaged together with it by products at markets and supermarkets. Therefore, it is the perfect plant to work with based on the availability of its by products. This project aims to raise awareness on current environmental problems and also spark interest in others to seek alternative materials as a substitute to better utilise these so called “waste”.
