Summary: | With the Fourth Industrial Revolution today where digital technological advancement are continuously being integrated into the different industries, the global demand for energy is expected to keep expanding. This brings about the challenge for the power grid to supply the sufficient power to balance consumer loads while mitigating climate change. Therefore, it is essential to have an optimally efficient Energy Management System (EMS). For this project, the EMS is designed by using the smart grid concept. It includes integrating the Photovoltaic (PV) system, which is a renewable source of energy, into the grid to reduce the reliance on the burning of natural resources to generate electrical energy. On the demand side, the demand response algorithm is implemented to reduce the peak loads, thus improving the energy efficiency and saving cost. LabVIEW is the program used to perform this simulation. |
