Although diabetes cannot be completely cured, it can be controlled by medication or insulin injections if required, adjusting diet and exercising regularly. On the other hand, pre-diabetes can be reversed with appropriate adjustments to lifestyle. Hence, self-management is essential. Existing self-management methods are usually focused on recording blood glucose levels and adhering to generic diet guidelines. Therefore, to help pre-diabetic and diabetic patients to manage their conditions, a mobile application is developed to not only help them to keep track of their condition, it will also guide them to make informed decisions on food and encourage physical activities by applying the concept of gamification. In this project, my focus will be on the registration and login function as well as the journal feature which allows users to record and keep track of their blood glucose levels and food intake.
