The project was scripted in Java language and uses Google’s firebase for data storage. Google’s firebase was the optimal choice of selection due to the easy integration of their various functionalities such as user authentication and real time database cloud storage into Android Studio IDE. The storage and retrieval of items from the database requires no server side coding and renders a systematic display in the firebase console under the sections Analytics and Develop. Idealization was first carried out, followed by market survey, planning, execution and testing. The inspiration behind this application stems from an observation of a social phenomenon that exists in Singapore’s society today. The problem reside in a small pool of local writers and a small literary art scene that Singapore has. CMOS is developed to provide a platform for seasoned and unseasoned writers a chance to display their literary works. Upon market research, this budding idea was further developed into an educational application, where users are given the option for their work to be downloaded and edited by this community of writers. This serves to help a community of users who are less proficient linguistically to seek help from seasoned writers, as well as providing Singaporeans with a chance to display their literary works. This documentation aims to provide insight to the whole development process of this project, from idealization to planning to the codes used in the programming.
