Description
Summary:Augmented Reality is one of the most promising technology at the moment. Since the outbreak of Pokemon Go in 2015, people become more interested in getting to know Augmented Reality. However, Augmented Reality is not a new topic in the world of Information and Communication Technology. It has been developed since 1968. At that time, technology has not been highly developed. The Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) was not as sophisticated as the NVIDIA GeForce series. With the development of Augmented Reality hardware such as smart glasses (Google Glass), Microsoft HoloLens and Epson Moverio, Augmented Reality application is getting better. Furthermore, Computer Vision and SLAM contribute in the enhancement of Augmented Reality. This project aims to utilize the function of Augmented Reality (AR) to virtually showing a dynamic safety barrier enclosing the movement of KUKA Robotic Arm. Using Unity 3D and Vuforia Software Development Kit, the application aims to assist the users in recognizing the safety area when the robotic arm is being operated. The application will be created in Windows Operation System, which will build the apk. file for Android. Therefore, the application can be used by phones or Epson Moverio.
