By exploring the use of the camera in smartphones integrated with the computational capabilities of the OpenCV Computer Vision Library, we intend to provide users with full unrestricted freedom of motion to simulate a more natural workout experience. By using OpenCV, computations and image processing could be performed on each camera frame, providing flexibility and robustness to perform in virtually almost any setting – home, office, school, gym, indoors, outdoors, so long as lighting conditions are desirable. This application is intended to provide a quick, hassle-free, convenient workout. Users are not required to set up any specialized equipments or pair with any external console system or devices. The application runs entirely on the mobile phone and utilizes solely the built-in camera in our smartphone. By gamifying the workout experience, I hope that users who seldom exercise or have a busy lifestyle can be encouraged to play this game in between breaks or rest time to get a quick stretch or a light workout that is designed to last for about 3 minutes each run. I hope that the convenience provided as a result will motivate people to do short workouts so as to combat musculoskeletal disorder as a result of bad sitting posture and long hours of sitting in that may lead to debilitating health issues in the future.
