SAR ground moving target estimation and imaging by using Lv's distribution

This paper presents a new SAR ground moving target estimation and imaging algorithm based on a novel Lv’s distribution (LVD). LVD is a recently developed time-frequency representation method for multicomponent linear frequency modulated (LFM) signal. Therefore, the proposed algorithm has superior...

LVD is a recently developed time-frequency representation method for multicomponent linear frequency modulated (LFM) signal. Therefore, the proposed algorithm has superior performance in multiple moving target imaging scenario. By using LVD to represent the multiple moving targets in Doppler centroid frequency and chirp rate domain, each targets’ Doppler parameters can be easily read, and the target velocities in both slant-range and along-track directions can be estimated accurately. Focused target responses for multiple moving targets can be obtained simultaneously by simply matched-filtering or other advanced approaches. Point target simulations are designed and carried out to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm.
