However, awareness and interest towards investigations at the intersection of design and art, health and well-being appear to be gaining traction. The emergence of several activities and initiatives in recent years among design and art practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders in the healthcare, social care, and education sectors, indicate growth of activities in design for health. What are some of the recent design for health initiatives? What is the state of Design for Health development and education in Singapore? What might be some of the considerations to further develop and grow the field? This presentation provides an overview of activities currently shaping the field of design for health in Singapore. The first section will first highlight several recent initiatives before introducing a range of design for health explorations occurring at the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Lastly, this presentation will conclude with a discussion of plans at the Art and Design for Health Lab (AD4HLab), a new initiative at the university that aims to support and grow design for health explorations and capability development in Singapore.
