Summary:Conversion of hazardous metallic elements to stable synthetic minerals by geological reactions was examined focusing on polluted soil treatment using apatite. CaO, PbO, V2O5 and CaF2 were treated in atmosphere at 800.DEG.C. to synthesize (PbxCa10-x)(VO4)6F2(0<x<9). The product was sintered for 10 hrs-4 weeks and structural change of the sample was examined by X-ray diffraction and high resolution electron microscope. Relationships between value of x and reaction rate or behaviors of various constituents or product composition or nano scale disordered structure or disequilibrium were analyzed.
