Summary: | Nanostructural twin disks of zinc oxide with high yield were fabricated by vapor-phase transport using a mixture of
zinc oxide, indium oxide, and graphite powders as source material. The twin disk consisted of two identical hexagonal disks with
a size of about 1.5μm in diagonal and 100 nm in thickness. The scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy,
and selected area electron diffraction analysis demonstrated that the twin disk was a single crystal, enclosed by{0001}, {101 ̅0}, and
{101 ̅1} surfaces. The growth process is discussed. |
