While there have been a good deal of popular discussions about this digital divide, not much is known about the quantitative significance of its various determinants. By undertaking a set of cross-country regressions, the paper finds that income, education, and infrastructure play a critical role in shaping the divide. Based on this analysis, the paper also offers some policy suggestions as to how to promote a wider diffusion of ICT in poorer societies. 2003-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/lkcsb_research/2790 info:doi/10.1016/s1049-0078(02)00186-0 https://doi.org/10.1016/s1049-0078(02)00186-0 Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Information and communication technology Digital divide Education Asia Asian Studies Growth and Development Technology and Innovation
