Description
Summary:Academic research on the relationship between diversification and corporate performance has helped change world opinion about the merits of business diversification. During the decade 1962-1972, a research stream from the Harvard Business School identified a trend towards diversification in the corporate development in the United States and Western Europe, and made the diversified corporation organized into divisions, the form the most advanced of the company. These results, coming at a time when major corporations established and newly formed conglomerates embarked on ambitious diversification strategies, reinforcing the idea that diversification was the best way available to large companies to make profits higher and more stable.
