Eddie Teo appointed as Pro-Chancellor of SMU

The Singapore Management University is pleased to announce that Mr Eddie Teo has been appointed Pro-Chancellor of the University with effect from 21 September 2018. His appointment will be for a term of three years. The positions of Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor are key and important positions within the University structure and the role of the Pro-Chancellor is to assist that of the Chancellor. Together with Chancellor of SMU, Mr J Y Pillay, and Pro-Chancellor Mr Lim Chee Onn, Mr Teo will share the important role of presiding over all major formal University ceremonies, and will officiate at the University’s Commencement and Academic Year Opening Ceremonies. Mr Teo is currently the Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers and also a Distinguished Fellow at the School of Social Sciences at SMU.
