Summary:Mr Robert Zoellick was in Singapore Management University on 1 July 2014 as the 15th speaker of the Presidential Distinguished Lecturer Series. In a wide-ranging discussion on economic and geo-political issues moderated by SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer, Mr Zoellick shared his insights on China’s economic reforms, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Japan’s economic prospects, and winding down of bond-buying activities by the United States. Mr Zoellick is currently a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He was the President of the World Bank from 2007 to 2012. Before that, he had distinguished himself with many years of service in the public and private sectors, including taking on the roles of Vice Chairman with the International of the Goldman Sachs Group, Managing Director, and Chairman of Goldman Sachs' Board of International Advisors; Deputy Secretary of the U.S. State Department; and US Trade Representative under President George W.
