WANG, Bin ZHOU, Lina Among the technologies that have transformed human relationships, consumer connectivity to companies, and the fabric of our increasingly high-tech society over the years, few come close to the changes brought about by social networks and social media that have enabled us to search and connect in many new and different ways. This special issue connects the dots between the strategy, information, technology, economy and society-related issues in this vibrant area of research inquiry. The related articles appeared in ECRA between 2010 and 2016. Although the work only scratches the surface of the range of interesting issues that are present in this area, the rapid rise of the social network service providers and extensive diffusion of their services around the world has made this area one that is critical in e-commerce research. This VSI brings together the research of authors how have worked in different ways – with different theoretical and methods perspectives – on social commerce issues around the world. Although this area of scholarship and practice is quite new in technology-related research, the contents of the research that ECRA has published nevertheless leaves a lasting impression on the need to further explore the depth of the issues in this area. 2016-10-01T07:00:00Z text https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/sis_research/3267 https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/electronic-commerce-research-and-applications/special-issue/10DFMJM0KNP Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Computer Sciences E-Commerce
