Observation of doubly-charmed B decays at LEP

A search for doubly-charmed B decays with both charmed mesons reconstructed is performed, using about 3.8 million hadronic Z decays recorded with the ALEPH detector at LEP. A clear signal is observed in the channels B→DsD¯(X)B→DsD¯(X) and B→DD¯(X)B→DD¯(X) (where D can be either a D00, a D++ or a D∗+...

A clear signal is observed in the channels B→DsD¯(X)B→DsD¯(X) and B→DD¯(X)B→DD¯(X) (where D can be either a D00, a D++ or a D∗+∗+), providing the first direct evidence for doubly-charmed B decays involving no DsDs production. Furthermore, candidates for the two-body Cabibbo suppressed decays B0→D∗−D∗+B0→D∗−D∗+ and B−→D(∗)0D(∗)−B−→D(∗)0D(∗)− are also observed. Measurements of the corresponding branching fractions are extracted. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/sis_research/5851 info:doi/10.1007/s100529800924 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/sis_research/article/6854/viewcontent/ep_98_037.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Computer Sciences Databases and Information Systems
