Many researches in pedagogical science have confirmed the importance of being curious to the students' cognitive development. However, in the newly popular virtual world-based learning environments (VLEs), there is currently a lack of attention being paid to enhancing the learning experience by stimulating the learners' curiosity. In this paper, we propose a simple model for curious agents (CAs) which can be used to stimulate learners' curiosity in VLEs. Potential future research directions will be discussed. 2011-05-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/sis_research/6658 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/sis_research/article/7661/viewcontent/B9.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Curious agent human computer interaction virtual learning environment intelligent learning companion Artificial Intelligence and Robotics |
